(June 4, 2012) – It’s 7:39 a.m. in a cold, windy, and rainy Brockport, NY. In a short while, we will drop off Sophie at the kennel. Then we will pack and head off to Hattiesburg, which will be sunny and in the high 90s all week. Some of you might like that weather, but to us it is oppressive.
We are heading down this week to look for apartments. We have our ideal apartment already selected – Blainewood Apartments. It might not look like much, but the size is just right, it allows dogs, and the price is affordable for us. Hopefully, that pans out. There are about 8 or 12 other places to scope out, but hopefully we won’t have to.
While we are there, we also check out the town and see if they have grocery stores other than Walmart. There are rumors about a lack of grocery stores. See this interview with the previous visiting professor: Michael Robbins’ Paris Review interview.
We will also meet with Chuck and Kelly, who were the previous tenants in the apartment we live in now.
More about the apartment to come soon.
